Planet surf's most advanced wooden surfboard construction system, invented in 1994 for functional hull flexibility and a low centre of gravity. Includes the 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 layer variants

The Future Primitive 12 footer

This design was first conceived and built in 1998, and it proved to be an incredible and unique board. The Future Primitive has  a snake like maneuverability which enables it to maintain optimum positioning at all times, in any situation. Combined with a moderate flex and the ability to take off in the steepest of waves with complete ease, the narrow displacement tail with huge spitfire fin and a high dose of rocker was so successful that it has led to a range of similar boards from 9 to 17 feet.

In the water with other longboards the board is like a wolf among the sheep , easily outpacing them and taking off deeper. Although it never seems to  be doing much, it always manages to be in the right place at the right time, and can maintain a constant weaving motion as it glides through subtle rail turns at high speed or tighter arcs when needed as the displacement tail comes into play.  In bigger waves the twang from the long flexible tail projects the board through turns and surface chop with a user friendly soft low frequency flex which is deceptively powerful.

The rider who masters the subtleties of this craft enters a beautiful world of flowing and  harmonious wave riding which invokes the much sought after meditative zone.

Welcome to The Tree to Sea Network

Tree to Sea (t2s) is your point source for all things hollow, wooden, and surfboard. Here you'll find education, inspiration and if your not careful, an addiction for wood, water, and waves. This site is a social network (sort of like Facebook, but grassroots).
